Kiddos at the Capital
Clara and Janie were excited to take Davis & Cindy along on a trip to the Hands On Museum in Olympia once school was out. We made a day of it, stopping at our favorite bakery (Wagner's) and then visiting the capital grounds. Clara LOVED being in the palace and it was a great opportunity for them to run off some of the sugar and then be ready for a quiet trip back home.

Happy 90th Great Grandpa Zane
Great Grandpa Zane celebrated his 90th Birthday with all of his children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren! It was a fun day of family togetherness and yummy food in Quincy!
All the grandkids, besides Zac, ended up on the trampoline giving Janie & Clara a ride. They loved all the attention. Janie even sweet talked Uncle Elmer into a ride on his new horse Strawberry. I am afraid the girls will expect to swim and ride horses every visit.

Clara's Preschool Graduation - On to Kindergarten!?!
Everybody warns you about time flying once you have kids and I just don't think you get it until one day you blink and your child has completed 2 years of preschool and it enrolled in Kindergarten - WOW!
Clara has loved her time at preschool and has been fortunate to have the greatest teachers to help cultivate her love of learning. This year Clara really has blossomed in her artwork and with her reading. She also learned to adapt in her classroom environment as several girls in her program left and several active boys replaced them. Her recess time became a lot more lively and she came home and asked to play "police" with Janie. It was cute to see how much her classroom environment, that she attended just three mornings a week, really did leave a impression on her.
We were thankful for both Mrs. Colpitts and Mrs. Steers who both retired after this year but brought a wealth of experience and relaxed and traditional classroom environment that made Clara very comfortable.
The class recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang several cute songs for the crowd.
Clara being recognized during the graduation ceremony. She told the teacher she wanted to be an actor, librarian or maybe a waitress "like Mommy." I had to clarify that in college I used to wait tables.
Clara and Janie both enjoyed the celebration and the delicious cake reception. It was a little bittersweet to say goodbye to the classroom knowing that Kindergarten is her next step but hopefully Janie will be enrolled in the same program in 2 years.
Congratulations, Clara Natalie! Mommy & Daddy are SO proud of you!
