Preschool on Valentine's Day!

Luckily Clara got to go to preschool on Valentine's Day.  With all of the red and pink crafts, treats and cards she was in heaven!

Clara and her pal, Aspen
Like the other school presentations, they started off with a cute little round of songs.  We'd talked several times about singing loudly and a few lines into the first song, she looked at me, smiled, and started singing loudly.  Unfortunately, she also sped up and finished the song a lot sooner than the rest of the class, but I was able to hear her and she was proud of her performance!

The class had passed out their valentines into decorated envelopes by the time the guests arrived.  Clara was excited to open hers.  In all honesty, it was mainly in the anticipation of candy!

Together Clara & Mama made these cute valentines for her classmates!  She signed each one on the back and selected a heart sticker.  She has been practicing signing her name and it gets better and better all the time!

Opening Valentines

Feasting!  So many cute heart shaped or themed snacks!  This time Mommy took the easy route with heart shaped cheese on crackers
Poor tired Janie was a champ and watched the entire presentation from her little stroller.  Bless her!

Valentine's Playgroup

Scout & Gem have so much fun at playgroup!  For Valentine's Day we were responsible for the craft and so I brought my camera.  I didn't get too many photos, her are the ones I got of our sweeties.

Super Bowl, Papa & Brendan's Birthday!

This year on Super Bowl weekend Daddy had to travel to Boston for work so the three of us girls packed some bags and headed down to Chehalis for a few nights with Grandma & Grandpa!  On Super Bowl Sunday, the weather was gorgeous and perfect for the kids to be outside.  The girls had an absolute blast riding in the mini gator!  Taylor is quite a driver, making tight corners and backing up extremely well.  On the other hand, teaching Clara to drive may be an exciting adventure for us!  Much like with her bike riding, she focuses on either on looking where she is going OR she will pay attention to steering, but not both simultaneously.  After a short stint as driver and almost removing the gator bumper, she happily assumed the passenger position.

Janie and Brendan requested a ride from Papa Mark in the wagon!

And the newest fur baby, sweet Andi (Ryan & Hailey's) looked on all the fun the kids were having.  She so cute and reminds us all of Toutle our childhood dog.

After getting up from her morning nap (an early morning nap because she was up half the night and refused to go back down after 5:30) Janie beelined for the tricycle and acted like she knew what she was doing.  Luckily, her legs aren't quite long enough to reach the pedals.  I am really not prepared for the day this kid takes off on wheels!

Super Bowl Sunday happened to fall on sweet Brendan's 2nd Birthday!  He is changing so much every time we see him.  While he is definitely "all boy", he is a such a sweetheart and loves his cousins!

We had a fun group over to watch the game including Uncle Den and Aunt Dianne.  The Giants were victorious over the Patriots which was actually a repeat match up and result of the Super Bowl four years prior when we were in the hospital with our new baby girl, Clara.

Dianne & G.G. Swanson provided Janie with lots of amusement and distracted her enough to eat her dinner!

Then we all sang Happy Birthday to Papa Mark & Brendan!  Grandma Jan made a decadent peanut butter cup dessert that was divine.  It was a fun day for all!

The next day the girls and I spent the whole day at G.G. & Papa Bob's house.  Silly me, I forgot to bring out my camera, but we all had a really great day together.  Taylor came over and played with Clara and Janie, too!  G.G. was prepared with lots of treats and fun activities to keep the girls entertained.  Janie even took a great nap and allowed Grandpa & I an opportunity to work on a shadow bow project with his father's WWI medals.

We were all very happy for Kevin to come home from his trip, but we were glad to be able to make the most of his time away enjoying our wonderful family!

Dressed Up Scout

Clara enjoys picking out her own ensembles these days and LOVES accessories!  She subscribes to the "more is better" accessorizing philosophy!

Someone likes getting "fancy"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Found these cute card templates online {Seaside Creative} and then couldn't decide which I liked better, so I made both.  And since I made them both, I am posting them both...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Special Visitors

What a treat it was to have our dear friends Wendy & Delaney visit from California. Since we were vacationing their last trip home, it had been 10 months since our last visit with them and we have missed them dearly.  Janie & Delaney have taken different developmental tracks, Delaney was a super early mover with rolling, crawling and walking while Janie has preferred exercising her vocal chords, so when Wendy & I compared them in our messages and talks, they were really up to different things.  Now at 16 months, they seem to have evened out and now have more similar abilities.  How fun it was to see them really play together!

It was clear that they were noticing one another and wanted to do what the other was doing!  They enjoyed sitting at the table together for a snack and both loved the pink car (Delaney has one of her own).  At times through the day they would wander off an play independently, but eventually they'd get back to interacting.  It was pretty cute to watch!

What a sweet little beauty, Miss Delaney is!  It was SO much fun to get to know her!

Clara liked seeing Wendy and enjoyed telling her about school and her toys!

And of course, we had to take this shot during dinner when both girls had on Husky bibs!  Very fitting since their mommies met in a SpCmu course at the University of Washington!

Just like every visit, Mommy thoroughly enjoys my time catching up with my dear friend and will be looking forward to our next visit.  Hopefully this time it will be us going to see them in March when we are in California for Disneyland!
