Janie's first tastes...

Tonight we gave our little Janie Bug her first tastes of rice cereal. She loved it!!

Originally I was going to hold off until after she was officially 6 months old, but the past few nights when Mommy has gone to the gym, lil' Gem has thrown major fits for her poor Daddy. She has been refusing to take a bottle for a few weeks as well so we figured that if she could start to associate Daddy with food, she may not get as freaked out when Mommy goes out for a little bit, plus Kevin has a way to nourish her while I am away (you can tell by the rolls that having a late meal is a major concern for our little sweetie).

Janie trying cereal was a big event in our household. Clara was especially excited and wanted to help out Dad.

First Bite!

Reaching out for more...
She caught on quickly and kept grabbing at the spoon and bringing it to her mouth. Once she finished the cereal she started sucking it off her bib!

Yummy, Daddy!

Clara did a great job helping out feeding Janie, too. We explained to her that the cereal was made with Mommy's milk just for Janie, but somehow she seemed to think that she was really missing out on something good and asked to take a bite. After the eager bite, the reaction on her face was priceless, followed by a giant "Yuck!" Something tells me that she will not want to take bites of the vegetable medleys and sweet potatoes I will make in the weeks to come!

It seemed like just a few months ago we were giving Clara her first bites and way to quickly, it has snuck up again with Janie. Wow!
