Legoland

As a family we were all pretty excited for our first Legoland experience.  We had heard such great things about the park from multiple sources and Clara is starting to really get into her building with Legos.  She stepped up to the regular blocks from the Duplos for her 4th birthday!  Janie LOVES to play with Duplos and Daddy just plain loves to build!

We got there right as the park was opening and we had great weather for the day.  Immediately we got in line for a boat tour of lots of great Lego sculptures.  It was really impressive to see all of these amazing creations that were perfectly to scale.  The tour guy was taking about the guys that build all of the statues and it seemed to have Kev question his career choice for a second or two!  Think unlimited amount of each Lego piece!!

The park quickly filled up and the family broke up in groups and headed in several directions.  Clara was not quite tall enough to go on several rides her cousins could and then seemed a bit uninterested in doing anything else on her own or with one of us.  Most of the rides had 45 - 75 minute waits so we made it through 4 rides the whole day.

Luckily the girls enjoyed playing on some of the structures and checking out some of the amazing sculptures.

There were a few characters to meet, too!

Zane & Hailey agreed to go on the Lego horse ride with Clara.  Despite a small fit where she insisted on riding a white horse (and I gave in and let her wait for one because otherwise it would have been a 40 minute waste of time), this goes down as her favorite ride at Lego Land.

Overall, the biggest hit was this Lego themed playground were there were lots of things to do and absolutely no waits.  Both our lil' Gem and Scout were in heaven! Even the little train ride, Janie was able to walk on several times!

At the end of the day, here - you can tell how tired our girl is!

While Kevin & I may have ended up a little disappointed about Legoland (mainly because of the crowds and long wait times for rides), our girls seemed to have a fun time!
