Year 3 of the Labor Day Stay-cation

Long gone are the Dave Matthews Band Labor Day weekends at the Gorge, of quick weekend getaways that we used to enjoy as non-parents.  Now, as parents, we have made a new tradition of the Labor Day Stay-cation.  Quite honestly, while different, just as much fun!

On Saturday we had beautiful weather and headed out for a picnic in the park and made it home in time to catch the Husky game.  Notice Clara above who is practicing her cheer moves!

Both of our little sweeties love to swing, but it is so heartwarming to watch our Scout be such a great big sister and want to push Janie in the swing!

Then it became Daddy's Job to push them both...

"Weeeeeeee!  Weeeeeeee!"
It is so darn cute to hear her say it!

It is amazing how kids are not phased by spinning.  Clara could do this for hours, but after a few spins, Mom & Dad need to sit down.

At this age, Janie prefers the dip to the spin.  When you try and stop dipping, she will get so excited she will just force herself backwards in your arms.

That evening, while his Mommy & Daddy were celebrating their anniversary, Mr. Davis came down for a fun evening of dress up and movies.  With Jake & the Neverland Pirates as their inspiration, these sweet kiddos played a fun treasure game and insisted upon being called "Jake" and "Izzy" insisting that Janie was "Cubby."  Even Daddy got into the fun playing Captain Hook!

Davis bought along his snazzy treasure chest so we turned it into a hunt for gold doubloons and these two were loving it.

Davis showing off his find, and Clara with her gold treasure.

We are so thankful for their sweet friendship.  Clara may boss poor Davis around from time to time, but she plays differently, possibly even more imaginatively, with Davis than her other playmates.  We just love having him around!
