Our SWEET Clara Natalie is FOUR!!
Similar to last year with Dorothy, Clara parlayed her current infatuation of Ariel into her Halloween costume as well as her birthday party theme of choice. I love that she likes Ariel, but kind of refused to have a Disney Princess/Ariel party so we settled on an Under the Sea theme where Clara got to "be Ariel" in her costume! She was overjoyed and I had a lot of fun making her birthday wish come true.
A few months ago, I won a party pack through a business called Birthday Kits for Kids, that provides, some decorations, crafts, music, suggested food and activities and reusable service for 12 children. I was able to reuse a lot of the blue decor from Janie's birthday and some of the crafts I had created for Clara's previous parties. It came together really cute and we has one ecstatic lil' Ariel!
I started putting decorations up a few days early because the weekend of the party we had several other events to attend. When Clara came down stairs one morning to see all the streamers and hoopla, she exclaimed through a beaming smile, "Oh, Mommy! It is just like I wanted!" Her reaction made all the fuss with crepe paper worth it! A few of my ideas (like the cake, and the jello) didn't turn out like I had planned, but that is the great thing about planning a party for 4 year old, they don't notice. If there is kids, activities and sugar, they are happy!
Such a memorable day for Miss Clara!
